Action on the Prophecy
It took a while to find them. But they were found.
When the world had started to tip sideways, people had existed in one of a few states. Denial, anger, grief. Few people had taken initiative. Had thought to go where no one would find them. Recently, more and more people had followed.
Here, the sounds of nature were plentiful. Mosquitos buzzed around, snakes slithered slowly, beasts of all kinds lived and breathed here, yet, this was better than the alternative. The trees provided shade, cast a wide net on the ground below, light filtering through, light green on the mossy and brown surface. An earthy smell, mint and pine, and green rambled through the place. Food grew in abundance. Nature took some of them, the newcomers, but that was a small price to pay. Heavy and wide trees stood guard. The air tasted cool, and damp. The ground was soft and firm.
Many people lived here. They had formed one collective tribe. One unit, to protect themselves against the predators within the largest forest in the world. The only one that seemed to them, to be untouched by the disasters inflicting havoc upon the world. The deeper they ventured, they found, the more peace they felt. The quieter it became, as if the world was not burning by the day, flooding by the night, being destroyed from all sides. It was a secret society, each person told one before he or she entered. And they followed one another. Slowly it grew. A couple of humans turning into a mighty tribe.
They lived, they survived, they began to thrive. They went back to the times before the first game was played by powerful beings. They went back to a time when humans were still in the infancy of their intelligence. Armed with the tools of knowledge collected over the centuries. They began to take over. They did not dare to forget. They did not want to disturb the peace. But by the day, they increasingly began to light up the fuse that would bring about mother nature’s wrath upon them.
Before they could destroy one of the two remaining havens in the world, they needed to be stopped.
They were found.
The organization had been working for months, since the die were rolled in that dark room. He had been working, used his immense resources to gather a group of people around him. Build up an organization. For this purpose, he had been chosen. He would fulfil his destiny. He found the last ancient sites. One had been destroyed by man, another was being burned and flooded from all sides. The core would be destroyed before he got to it. The other two were untouched as of yet. And he thought he understood why. But then, the storms had begun raging closer and closer to the forest. His theory was in danger of falling into hot water. Until one of his people reported that a drone he had sent in had found a tribe living deep in the forest. That answered his question.
They had to be removed.
